Mobile Accounts

I have some staff members using Portable Home Directories with laptops and this seems to be working well. However, I have 25 iBooks for students on which I would like to set up Mobile Accounts like I did last year with 10.3 server and clients (this year I am running Tiger Server and Clients). Actually I have tried to set this up and am having problems. I want no synchronization between the students "local home" and "network home". I would like to control this at the group level. What specific settings do I need under Mobility for this group in WGM??

To further complicate things, I would like these classes to have a Mobile Account on an eMac up in our computer lab (In other words each student in our 7th and 8th grade - would have one mobile account on an iBook and one on an eMac in the computer lab).

I have played around with the settings and I keep getting a message saying that there was an error with syncing in the background. Originally I had this group set for background sync manually, but later I decided that I did not want to offer them the option of synchronization.

Also - will I have to delete the Portable or Mobile accounts that already have been created on the clients (iBooks and eMacs) in order to make this happen??

I have read T&T which says it is possible to have mobile accounts, but does not elaborate.
