Re: mysql install help

So far I have used the Mysql manager gui to install and start mysql - of course I do have the issue of the gui not reflecting that mysql is running and am uncertain how to do tell via the command line.

After more research, I was able to get the phpmyadmin up and logged in to the point where I could create databases. Then last night, the server was upgraded from 10.3.7 to 10.3.8 along with the latest security update. Now I can no longer login to phpmyadmin. If phpmyadmin isn't good, what do you recommend?

I am shooting in the dark here - Simon referenced a manual, where is a good manual? I searched Apple's support site and get references to mysql in updates, and one document that refers to the location of mysql.

I appreciate all the help!
