Server Monitor can´t se new G5 xServe, our old G4 is working fine.
Two ideas:
1) Is the server monitor application from the same OS version as the
G5 XServe is running
2) Is hwmond running (the daemon that provides status to the server
monitor application) on the XServe
You can check the latter by running:
ps -auxwww | grep hwmond
If it isn't running make sure the watchdog config file
(/etc/watchdog.conf) has this line in it:
hwmond:respawn:/usr/sbin/hwmond # Hardware Monitor
daemon
Our original OS X Server install was on a non-Xserve machine, so that
last line wasn't added (b/c the towers can't run hwmond). When we
used rsyncX to copy the boot drive to the XServe we couldn't connect
hardware monitor either.
Good luck,

What can i have done wrong, when I enter the administrator username
and password it say´s Waiting for response, when i´m using wrong
username and password it confirms that. So the server is telling my
monitor software something, both its not giving me anything to see!
I have turned on the firewall, and made it so tight as possible, but
its still the same problem when i turn the firewall off!
I remember that there was a bug in the hostconfig file, something
about the localhost name when i configured our old G4, but i hope
thats not the problem here!
