2) Replication of Folders & Files on server in remote location.
- What is anybody using for File Replication among offices in a WAN ?
rsync works great for data replication
3) VPN between offices
- Some IT have suggested Watchguard as a VPN and Firewall
hardware so that packets can be routed among offices without the use
of a vpn client.
That's exactly the way you want to do it. Since by definition of your
problem you are connecting networks, not machines, you want the VPN
operating at the network level. Since hosts go up and down, and don't
generally have hw acceleration for encryption, this also favors the
network level device.
Alternatively, if you are using IPv6 networking throughout, then
IPSec offers additional benefits (like validation of hosts) that is
more feature rich but probably unnecessary.
