2) Replication of Folders & Files on server in remote location.
- What is anybody using for File Replication among offices in a WAN ?
rsync works great for data replication
I also thouhgt rsync is a good option but reading a new AFP548 article
it seems like there are issues using rsync as of compiled on a osx
server box.
I actually was considering the rsyncX solutions presented on
http://macenterprise.org
What version are u guys using for across network replication ?
3) VPN between offices
- Some IT have suggested Watchguard as a VPN and Firewall hardware
so that packets can be routed among offices without the use of a vpn
client.
That's exactly the way you want to do it. Since by definition of your
problem you are connecting networks, not machines, you want the VPN
operating at the network level. Since hosts go up and down, and don't
generally have hw acceleration for encryption, this also favors the
network level device.
Alternatively, if you are using IPv6 networking throughout, then IPSec
offers additional benefits (like validation of hosts) that is more
feature rich but probably unnecessary.

IPv6 would be nice but we are not using that at the moment.
Other than watchguard what other VPN's have u successfully used across
networks ?
Also
1) Our network is a mixed environment one, have u actually had a
positive experience with the hardware vpn at network level devices
between officesa and smb file services over vpn for excel or word files
?
Thanks
