Re: Problems w/ SMB authentication



Samba is handing authentication off to the NT domain. But just authentication. It has no way to identify the users- they are not accounts recognized by Mac OS X Server. The server needs to be able to answer the question "who is bob". Since it can't recognize them as valid system accounts this isn't going to work.

Other systems use winbindd to solve this issue.
