how you restrict access to the webserver by having

now they need to mount the sharepoint and then hide it

the mounts but this isn't as elegant as using some
sort of restriction through the server.
Generally, applications run as the user who started them which is why
you can restrict things like the www user easily.
I'm a bit confused by what you are trying to do here. Are you trying to
restrict, say Photoshop to only be able to save to one sharepoint? Or
something else?
