Follow up: 13. Printing in local accounts with PrintServer enabled

So,

the problem is solved. I had set the defaultprinter for all lab clients and forgot about that. These settings were outdated, reffering to an old printer, so all Adobe apps crashed. Now i defined the actual printer and everything is back to normal again. Problem is no problem.

Sorry for the trouble,

Alex

we have problems with printing in local accounts when printserver in
os x server 10.4.1 is enabled.
There is one printqueue for our networkprinter and this works fine.
However, if we use local logins which are configured as well in the
lab, no programm that needs access to a printer during startup, such
as Photoshop, Illustrator etc, works. The programms simply crash. The
same problems existed during 10.3.x server in which the printserver
never worked.
However, Tiger's printserver works better, but not for local
accounts. The printer is setup in root for all local accounts, but it
seems to me that the running printserver is overriding the local
values even on a non-network login. Is there any way to stop this?

Thanks in advance,

Alex
