I am seeing the same with Quark 5.x, Illustrator 7-10 and Microsoft
word files. Right now I am trying various ACL settings and combinations
to find a solution but have not found any. Right now the files are
saved locally and then replaced manually on the server when finished.
On our OSX 10.3x machines running Word, InDesign CS, Illustrator CS
and Photoshop CS and Quark 6.1 there are no issues.
I will keep watching this list and the forum you have posted for any
solutions and if I find one I will share it.
Thanks

Hi,
Having lots of problems with Quark 4.11 and Illustrator files
appearing to corrupt since installing Tiger on XServe. This is
affecting 9.2 users. Get errors of bad file format or access denied on
Quark files. Illustrator files display messages saying the file is
missing resource data but has been saved. On opening these files you
are unable to then access them.
This doesn't appear to be happening to all users and at this stage I'm
unable to identify what the difference is between the users setup.
I have found these threads on the issue and was wondering if anyone
had come up with a solution yet
