Mysql manager is not failing apart the password I did set up for
root during the first installation does not work when I use Cocoa
mysql.
OK, well MySQL Manager isn't useful here.
If a third party application isn't working, you'll need to contact
that third party support channel fro assistance with it.
How do I check it's listening on localhost ?. Following the error
message, that's my problem, as long as it says : "Unable to
connect to host localhost. Be sure that address is correct ans
that you have the necessary privileges". I am using the root user
to connect with the password I have enable.
Please provide both the command AND the error.
The command is to try to connect to mysql using cocoa mysql. the
error is above.
Then try connecting using `mysql` like we've suggested. Then provide any error.
Example: `mysql -h localhost -u root -p`
See `man mysql` for instructions.
Also be aware that the socket for mysql has moved to a more secure
location in Tiger.
Read the knowledgebase article at Apple. Search for "kmoxserver104
mysql" (which searches for all Mac OS X Server 10.4 articles that
also reference mysql.)
