Re: mysql

If a third party application isn't working, you'll need to contact that third party support channel fro assistance with it.
That sounds like an AppleCare, Dan. Thanks I was just trying to answer to your question. Cocoa mysql is just a GUi for the comand line anyway, as you certainly know, so the problem will be the same from the comand line. And it is the same, in fact.

Then try connecting using `mysql` like we've suggested. Then provide any error.
I did it. I have the same error about root that could not access localhost.

Example: `mysql -h localhost -u root -p`

See `man mysql` for instructions.
I did it also. I have first enable mysql with the comand line before to use the mysql manager.

Also be aware that the socket for mysql has moved to a more secure location in Tiger.

Read the knowledgebase article at Apple. Search for "kmoxserver104 mysql" (which searches for all Mac OS X Server 10.4 articles that also reference mysql.)
Yes i did that too. In first place. Like most of the time. And the following instructions did not fixed my problem. For this reason I went to the list.

Thanks anyway.
