Re: K12 OSXers?

We, Potsdam Central Schools have been using MacOS X Server since version 10.0.x to host mac AND Windows documents. No serious issues (if anything, the Windows machines work even better than the mac clients). We do maintain a Windows Domain Server (2000), but it is only for the authentication of windows machines. In the windows login scripts it maps all of the folders needed to the user's home folders (or public, etc.) on the mac server. \

We could, have one list of users on osx only (skip the win2k server) and have the win clients authenticate directly to osx server but win2k offers group policy and 'it just works'. The downside (for some, not us), is that users have to have the same username/password on both osx server and win2k server. But since we don't allow then to assign or change passwords (except going through us, too many of 'I forgot my password', or 'my password is my dogs name') it isn't a problem for us.

Are there schools out there using OSX server to provide file

users to share files between accounts. We are a K12 school
