Re: POP account issue on 10.3 server

Try going in VIA IMAP (Webmail, etc.) and see if there is a LARGE file sitting in the box.

Hi all,

We are experiencing a weird issue with one POP account on our 10.3 server. Basically, one user is unable to retrieve email all of a sudden. Nothing in the configuration has changed, and we have tried restarting both the Mail service as well as rebooting the server to no avail. I see the user logs in successfully in the logs, but the mail client hangs at "Retrieving new messages". I even tried rebuilding the user's mailbox with the command "/usr/bin/ cyrus/bin/reconstruct -r -f user/jmb" as that got me out of trouble once before, but no luck.

Can anyone suggest further debugging steps we can take? Is there a log file that I can look at to see errors while retrieving mail, or a flag I can set in cyrus to make the logging in mail.log more verbose?

Many thanks,

Greg Lappen
