Remember that the Finder will try to show you the effective
permissions
when ACLs are in use, but really it just gets confused. Just
remember that
ACLs override POSIX, and the deny bomb rules them all.
What effect does this setting have on the visible permissions in
that situation Josh?
serveradmin set afp:noNetworkUsers = y
Does it just show the file system perms, and not the ACLs ?
The visible permissions in the Finder? I've not tried that with the
noNetworkUsers permission mapping before. I'll need to check it out.
Really the Finder has a hard time showing the real permissions when
ACLs are in play. It tries hard, but just doesn't really get it.
Poor, stupid Finder...
