Upon login as

'getcwd' is an attempt to 'get the current working directory'. In other words, to find out what a session is using as its current directory.

'Permission denied' for the parent directories means that the protection
on the parent directory is so high that the process can't look into them.

So you have a directory permission issue. Try running Disk Utility and
using it to repair permissions. After that, manually check permissions
on whatever directory you're in when you log in and its parent directory.
