And I prefer keys over passwords any day.
Depends on the day. If I am using a laptop from some random hotspot,
it seems to me
that a password is safer, because a laptop is (relatively) insecure.
If someone
steals it, they can get root, and my key, and it's game over on the
server.
Keys are only preferable if you have absolute control over the
integrity of the
client hardware.
What do people think about the encryption Apple is putting in the OS?
Does that increase the security of the key? Someone may get my laptop,
but how much of the important data can they really get to? (assuming
that my passwords are good :-)
