The security of the key is a minimum of all the links along the way, and the ease with which they can be exploited.


It's a bit harder to figure out than it looks at first.
But if the machine is "Always With You", and there's no easy way to install a keyboard sniffer, and no easy way to hijack the application, then an ssh-agent key is very secure.


Until the monsters find another way in.

Someone may get my laptop, but how much of the important data can they really get to?

Think, "Single User Mode". Think, "Install Disk".
