One of our volumes was accidentally named with an extra parameter
at the end, so we get a volume name of "XServe-RAID-1 1". I've
tried everything I can think of to rename it and remove that extra
character, but it's not working as expected. Any suggestions?
It looks like there is already a folder at /Volumes/XServe-RAID-1,
either another mounted partition, or a normal folder, and so OS X
is doing what it always does in such situations where it adds the "
1" to the end?
No, it is not mounted.
xserve:~ root# mount
/dev/disk4 on / (NFS exported, local, journaled)
devfs on /dev (local)
fdesc on /dev (union)
<volfs> on /.vol
automount -nsl [394] on /Network (automounted)
automount -fstab [398] on /automount/Servers (automounted)
automount -static [398] on /automount/static (automounted)
/dev/disk2 on /Volumes/XServe-RAID-0 (NFS exported, local, journaled)
xserve:~ root# diskutil list
