(2) ACL support via AFP

Are there any others? What can the Server version do that the Client version is simply incapable of accomplishing at this time?

Actually, OS X supports ACLs just as well as OS X Server - there's jsut no gui for it. You'll need to use fsaclctl to enable ACL support on a given volume, and then chmod to set the permissions.

Remember, this is ACL support via an AFP connection.

If you enable ACLs under OS X Client and set some up and then connect to that machine via AFP, the ACLs are ignored. They are not ignored if the connection is via SMB.

I do not know why ACLs are ignored under AFP, I can only show that they are.
