My MCX controlled MacOS X computers are booting to the login window and
then showing only local users. After about 20 seconds (on 10.4) or 6
seconds (on 10.3) of sitting at the login window, it will display the
full list of network users.
This appears to be related to a recent switch to use the DHCP supplied
LDAP server and "Automatic" for the Authentication settings in Directory
Access. If I enter all the settings manually, it works correctly.
If the computer is told to use the DHCP supplied LDAP server but under
"Authentication" we use a manually add the LDAP server ("Custom" vs.
"Automatic") it works correctly. Of course, that pretty much defeats the
whole point of using DHCP to automate the LDAP management....
This only occurs on the first display of the login window after boot, not
after a logout.
Does anyone have any insight that I can use to change this to DHCP
supplied LDAP and automatically authenticate from it?
