Re: turning off ssh password auth and restarting ssh

After thinking about this for a bit, I realized the stupidity of these questions...

1. I was editing the wrong file, the correct file is /etc/sshd_config
2. ssh is a service started on demand, not a constantly running server, thus no need to restart.

After editing the appropriate lines in sshd_config, password challenge response authentication was effectively disabled.

I am using an rsa key to login to my server via ssh, and I want to disable standard password authentication. I thought going into /etc/ssh_config and uncommenting PasswordAuthentication and changing it to "no" would suffice. At this point I'm not entirely sure that's all that is required, and I can't figure out how to restart sshd from the shell?

Has anyone else done this, and am I barking up the right tree? Also what is the appropriate command to restart the sshd daemon?

thanks,
Eben
