Not to be overly critical of the XRaid (my boss would frown at me), but I'd hardly call the XRaid the Mercedes of storage. It uses ATA, which makes it a bad choice for multitasking/development applications, and it has dedicated (read: not redundant) controllers. It's a decent array at a reasonable price. More along the lines of the Honda of storage arrays. ;-)
