You really don't know
what you are talking about. If Apple wants to embed and use
PostgreSQL, that is their choice. But they either need to
install it system wide - which ARD does not, in fact ARD tries to hide
that it is PostgreSQL (in the install, just look at WHERE it is
installed) - or they need to use a port other than the
default.
And I've found no
documentation outlining how to integrate the two.
Yep that's me, not knowing anything about what I'm talking about
again. ;)
It's hardly hidden, it's just bundled inside the .app bundle, as
one would expect. Furthermore there's no single right place to install
anything on a unix based system so one place is as good as another. In
this case the bundle is the preferred manner since it keeps it with
the application that requires it and make for easy copying of the app
w/o having to locate a bunch of files elsewhere.
And just b/c you can't find the technote doesn't mean I'm
wrong.
Blaming others b/c you're not able to grasp what's going on or
b/c you're not able to find things hardly encourages ppl to assist
you.
