10,3.9 - I tried to run a mysql command and got no response (command missing) - so I backed up my DB to the same directory / usr/bin - confirmed the backup was there and rebooted the server...

Everything looked to be going ok and I suddenly went into the command line... I rebooted using the CD and fixed permissions etc... rebooted and the same thing happened. I navigated into the usr directory and cannot find the bin directory.... anyone got suggestions or insights..

Well, from the somewhat vague information you've given, it seems that you have inadvertently deleted/moved/overwritten /usr/bin

Best bet would likely be able to take /usr/bin from another known working server of the same version and replace it, and/or figure out what happened to it on your server...
