Re: POP & Webmail, but no IMAP

Well, the webmail is just an IMAP client written in PHP, so I'm not sure that you are looking at your pricing the right way there.

I could see you offering webmail/IMAP for a premium and justifying that with the storage costs. It would be easier to admin, and probably easier to sell too.

I agree that that would make things easier. It is just that (at least where I live) it is quite common to have pop & webmail, but no imap. Webmail and pop are the "must-have" options, while imap is considered to be an advanced feature.

I do realize that webmail is an IMAP client, I was just hoping that someone in the same situation has figured out a trick to solve this.

I could of course write/modify an Imap-proxy with the required functionality. I read that adding an IMAP-proxy is a good thing for webmail-performance anyway, so the little bit of overhead of checking against a list of accounts shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Except of course, I add an extra administration layer, and extra code that can break, not even mentioning the time required to set it up properly. It is not the nicest solution in the world, even though I'm sure I could get it to work.
