HELP!!! My smbd processes are multiplying like rabbits

Right now on my 10.4.2 server, I have Windows Services turned on and a couple of share points served out as SMB mounts. This afternoon, I noticed that both processors are maxed out. If I look with the Activity Monitor, I see dozens of smbd processes running. If I stop Windows Services, the smbd processes disappear, but as soon as I re- enable Windows processes, the number of smbd processes starts growing immediately. The smbd processes share all the available cpu time until the processors max out. Anybody have any suggestions. I only have 6 or 8 Windows users currently.

Thanks, Phil
