How do I get "localhost" to work?
I've read a few things at different sites on how to do it but they

Do you mean that you'd like the name "localhost" to resolve to the

What address is your computer using for its DNS server (in the Network
preferences)? If it is the machine's own IP or 127.0.0.1, this means

are running DNS services on the machine itself. If this is the case,
please post the contents of /etc/named.conf.
If your machine is using some other machine as its DNS server, can
other
machines also using that DNS server properly resolve localhost?

Has localhost resolution ever worked from your machine, or is the
failure a recent thing? If recent, can you recall any changes you made
that closely preceeded the failure?
Has never worked on my machines
In the "Server Settings" remote admin tool, is the machine's server
name supposed to be listed with 127.0.0.1 or with the actual ip address
of the machine?
