I've had both the "signaled to death by 6" problem and the "Unknown
mailbox path in Server Admin" problem. Everything on my server is stock
Apple; nothing modified at all. Everything worked great until the
Security Update 2005-03-21. I fixed things as suggest by Apple, and they
worked for a couple of weeks. I installed the 10.3.9 combo update and
things continued to work fine for a week or so, then I started having
these problems again. The main problem is with Apple Mail.app and imap.
Thunderbird and Squirrelmail work fine. People using POP with Mail.app
have fewer problems.
I run through the now-normal sequence of:
serveradmin stop mail
mv /var/imap/ /var/imap.old
mkdir /var/imap
/usr/bin/cyrus/tools/mkimap
chown -R cyrus:mail /var/imap
sudo -u cyrus /usr/bin/cyrus/bin/reconstruct -i
serveradmin start mail
every 12 hours or so, which causes a lot of duplicates in everyone's
mailboxes, but at least the server runs for awhile again.
I'm really really really hoping Tiger Server fixes that.
