Hi,
I just finished upgrading my Mac OS X server software on a Blue and Ice G3 with 40GB drive) from 10.2.8 to 10.3.8 and have not been able to get the thing to configure the last step properly.
It looks like everything is installed using the assistant, but then after rebooting when the install disc finished, you get to the configuration window it hangs at the following point:
------------------------------
One moment please...
Your server is being configured.
------------------------------
Then it just stays/ hangs there forever. I tried this several times and the same thing happens. I've waited up to an hour or so at one point.
Can anyone tell me why it would do this?
Does it have something to do with DNS and not being able to locate a host/domain name?
It picked up the previous configuration with the IP and DNS info properly. The only thing I didn't really have setup previously was a host address. I just used an IP number to connect to the server.
Is there a way to get around not giving it a host address if this is indeed the problem?
Any help is appreciated.
Regards,
Chris
