Re: 10.4 Network Homes and Font Hell

Is anyone out there running network home directories for their clients and experiencing strange issues with fonts?

We have 10.4.3 Servers and Clients and they have conflicting fonts, corrupted fonts, arabic fonts that get substituted on web pages in Safari for Arial, fonts in MS Word that display other fonts and little ASCII boxes.

When we have had these problems, Font Finagler has 100% resolved them. It's not a solution to the root problem (apparently corrupt caches, as others have mentioned), but it does seem to resolve it.

You can figure out the font cache locations yourself and rm them as you please, but this little app is a lot easier and probably worth the ten bucks...

Or at least have a look at that page, since he is nice enough to identify all the cache locations.
