Blue Screen

I'm running an Xserve at a colo with OS X Server 10.4.3, and for some crazy reason, I can no longer VNC into my box, instead I just get a big blue empty screen. And yet, all services appear to be running normally, SA works, WM works. Any ideas why I can't get past the blue screen? It's like it's hanging up on the login window.
