Has anyone on this list experience hangs after soft restarts under
Tiger Server on a Dual G5 Xserve? Regardless of how I do it (i.e
command line, GUI, ARD) from time to time the Xserves will hang,
forcing me to get my lazy ass out of the chair, walk 80 feet over to
the machine room, and cycle the power.
Then you should look as to what exactly is hanging. Is it the whole
server, just an application, or the GUI console? Does it respond to
pings, ssh connections, or service connections (http, smtp, pop,
imap, afp, smb, ...)??? Does the serial console still function? What
does Server Monitor tell you?
In any event this is not normal and indicates an problem.
