Re: Restarts Under Tiger Server

Do you see the spinning cogwheel on the console before you push the power button?

If so, there is an outstanding bug with file locks (IIRC) on OSX causing this problem at reboot time. We have it happen on our XServes fairly often.

P.S. Managed PDUs allow you to be lazier ;)

Has anyone on this list experience hangs after soft restarts under Tiger Server on a Dual G5 Xserve? Regardless of how I do it (i.e command line, GUI, ARD) from time to time the Xserves will hang, forcing me to get my lazy ass out of the chair, walk 80 feet over to the machine room, and cycle the power.

Thanks in advance...
