Klaus, but no Cigar:
10.3
osx1039.uio.no# /System/Library/ServerSetup/serversetup -getServerSerialNumber
-300001
10.2:
osxs1028.uio.no# /System/Library/ServerSetup/serversetup -getServerSerialNumber
Usage: not available.
'strings serversetup' shows:
-getSerialNumber
-setSerialNumber
-verifySerialNumber
osx1028.uio.no# /System/Library/ServerSetup/serversetup -getSerialNumber
k-375-hqb-168-ick-322-uey-###-XXX-###-X
- it does gives the serial string. Which means the 1039 serversetup is
giving me either bogus material or there is something wrong with the
license.
So.. I guess we found the command, but now I'll have to verify the
result on another server, and incidentally, I found a bubblewrap
padded envelope containing the OSX Server install CD with what I
suspect is the serial numer I used for the server.
But your answer was close enough. Close enough for a chocolate cigar anyways.
