first use the command line. Safer.
Presumably some log file is getting bombed by some process, do an

ls -al /var/log/

and see what is growing.
Then

tail -f /var/log/that_file

Otherwise it could be that swap spaces is being created

ls -l /var/vm

it could be some memory leak.

100MB free is nothing on a MacOSX machine, just one new VM file and they
are taken.
