Re: IMAP and PHP

While installing a CRM solution I ran into a problem with a feature that monitors IMAP mailboxes. I got a message saying, This system does not have the IMAP c-client libraries enabled/compiled into the PHP module.

I created a test.php page that echo'd the installed modules and sure enough the IMAP libraries are not enabled in my PHP setup. I searched all over the Internet yesterday trying to find out how to enable the IMAP libraries IN PHP and the only instructions I could find were to recompile PHP on the server. I am reluctant to do this as I have found that updating these kind of components often get screwed up when updates for the server are released by Apple.

Is there an alternative way to enabling the IMAP libraries in PHP without recompiling?

Yes you can do this without recompiling PHP.

You don't need to recompile PHP to get imap support if you compile the extension as a share extension.

Don't tell me with your knowledge and resources of afp548.com you don't know how to perform this simple task cause I'd have a hard time to stop laughing and am already amazed that you had to ask such a simple-minded question to begin with.

I have verified this works because I'm doing this on several servers.

My setup is a dual 1.8 G4 xServe, running 10.3.9. Any help will be most appreciated
