This is inappropriate - do not post like this - it's a professional
information exchange not AOL.
It is important to know, and refer properly to the difference between and
NIC and port and many other basic dichotomies - especially since so many
have limited TCP/IP knowledge, sloppy terminology causes confusion. Were all
the posters to actually have the networking knowledge their tag lines and
titles imply a lot of questions would be a lot better and Dan ( and others )
wouldn't be doing OSI and IP 101 over and over.
People looking for good information do usually prefer it to be "precise"
