Re: How do you automatically create users "Home" directories?

I am running OSX as the PDC for a local school running Windows 2000/XP.  They have roaming profiles and want to have their "My Documents" folder located on a network drive (H:) for connivance.  I have everything up and running (finally) except for the automatic creation of the physical directory to connect the H: drive to.  Samba will automatically try to connect an incoming share request to a designated location on the servers hard drive if there is a [homes] section, but it will only do so if there is already a preexisting directory.  Unlike requests for profiles, it wont automatically create the necessary directory for the [homes] share.

If your homes are stored on an Apple server then just define the homes in the user record and then use createhomedir to pre-populate them all in one shot.
