Another option is George's Exim/FTP/MySQL/Courier system at

advantages of not using system accounts at all, but stores all user
account info in MySQL for its Internet services. And it scores in
that it uses exim, perhaps the best MTA on the planet (IMNSHO).
I second Dan's recommendation of George Szekely's terrific ECM
package. We've been running it on a production server for a little
more than two years (10.2.8 through 10.4.3), and it performs as
advertised, with very little fuss. I've been testing ECM2 for George
since November, and it's quite good, as is George at answering
questions. Lots of functionality, domains and users abstracted into a
MySQL database, Exim and Courier (yay!), few hassles, and George does
it out of the goodness of his heart. Now you can't be that, can you?
