Re: Server Problem Notification

I use this on about 250 servers and only get this kind of message when I'm
running into power fluctuations. The UPS is going to be sending a signal to
the server that it has lost current and the server is sending a message to
you. The current doesn't stay lost or it would simply shut the server down
(if you have told it to do so). There are some APC units that will email
you directly from the APC if this is happening and keep statistics if you
need to prove the issue to your power/facilities guy. Sometimes we just
pull too much current... I have this issue sometimes with Xsan installs,
where the client promised they had enough power...

And if you are having an issue across multiple servers and across multiple
UPSs, then I'd look at the power and try to get some stats on that.
Consistent brownouts can mean that the breaker is overloaded and will cause
your UPSs to have a less than preferable life-span.
