Are they getting an error message of some sort when it
fails? Is there Active Directory involved?

home folders at login. If a user logs in and the home folder cannot be found,
logging out and then logging back in fixes this. The computer can be sitting at
the login window for hours and we still have this problem, so I don't think it's
the problem some have had where it hasn't fully loaded the network. But maybe, I
don't know. Server and all clients are running 10.4.7. DNS seems to be working
correctly - forward and reverse lookups work and the server has the correct
hostname. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
