I'll bet it runs well, I've found Windows 2003 is noticeably faster
performing desktop (and of course server) than XP. Hardware
requirements for 2003 are small, even smaller for 2003 R2.
It will probably just default to VGA graphics. The other two big hurdles
will be 1. Can it see the hard disk during install? and 2. Will it find
the network card.
You can use XP drivers in 2003.
I can see it for fun or demos, but as a replacement, that's awfully
expensive, considering you could buy two AMD HP Proliant 1U servers or
three Dell boxes for the price of an Xserve. You forgot to factor in
the $500 Apple logo, and of course the titanium faceplate.
