Re: apache2, mailman, mailing list

Hi Liyas

I got this too after upgrading to php5 using entropy. After a little research I found it wasn't that php5 was being reloaded, it was that the server was reloading the php4 module automatically if I had the webmail option enabled. I guess that server admin was assuming that if I was wanted squirrelmail then I would need php4.

I could not work out how to stop this as server admin would automatically re enable, until I did the following.

1, Go to server admin and ENABLE web mail. Apache will not start up

2, Backup httpd.conf file

sudo cp /etc/httpd/httpd.conf /etc/httpd/httpd.conf.old

3, Edit your /etc/httpd/hpptd.conf file and delete the two lines that relate to the php4 module. I tried commenting out with # but these will get uncommented on restarts so delete to be certain. Turning off php4 in server admin is not enough, if using webmail, should be ok if webmail is not being used.

Remove ...

LoadModule php4_module libexec/httpd/libphp4.so
AddModule mod_php4.c

4, Restart apache

Good luck

Stephen

Mailman under OS X isn't set up to use Apache2.

Why did you install Apache2?
