The only way to ensure this is to ensure that all the other
partitions are not bootable.  There is only one setting available for
boot selection: the currently selected device.  It doesn't store a
list to walk through.

While you may have an observable behaviour right now, that behaviour
is not documented anywhere (I know of) so it might change with future
versions of Startup Disk or the computer's firmware.

Simon, thanks for the feedback. I also could not find anything documented beyond what I had found about the "predetermined" search order. It would surely be nice to know how the order is predetermined.
