THIS IS THE LOG
thanks man

any idea why this does not work on many many servers?

No idea. Is swupd working though? ie, is it just a cosmetic error?

Here are my settings, without the actual list of all the software update items. (No wonder it takes so long to view these settings in Server Admin! look at all the crap it has to parse out into xml if you remove the grep ...)

# serveradmin settings swupdate |grep -v updateItemsRecordsArray swupdate:valueBandwidth = 20480 swupdate:autoEnable = yes swupdate:portToUse = 8088 swupdate:lastChecktime = "2006-06-06 06:59:49 +1000" swupdate:autoMirror = yes swupdate:limitBandwidth = yes swupdate:checkError = no

Because swupd is just apache really, you can also see more logs at:

/var/log/swupd/
