Nah, I know the difference. I read to quickly and thought you mean CAPTCHA. Yes, I understand. In fact, it's a technique used in one of my favorite episodes of Millennium ("The Mikado") =)


Any time your charged with high treason for bringing your tattooed arm out of the country and violating munitions laws it tends to get noticed more. ;)

Not really, though RSA isn't the default anymore.

Also, it's not as prevalent as I had expected.

Depends on the circles you keep.

And SSL uses the same underlying techniques just in securing the session rather than a single message, so it is prevalent, just not noticed.

Back then, it seemed to just a matter of time before it was ubiquitous.

And so it has become, just in different guises.
