Re: Missing files - convert to HFSX?

Using the Apple tools, You'll have to reformat. There may be a third party tool but I'm not aware of any.

We had yet another disk fail on our 1TB primary array of the XServe RAID on Thursday evening (20 minutes before the scheduled incremental backup, of course). The Xserve would no longer recognize the volume, so we were forced to destroy and recreate the volume from tape backups. It finally finished this morning, but there is a large discrepancy in the size of the filesystem. I was expecting around 700GB of data, we ended up with less than 500GB.

After reviewing the Netbackup logs, I noticed there were a number of files that it claims already existed. Turns out some of these (not sure how many yet) were due to case insensitivity. I was unaware that HFS+ is case-insensitive by default. Is there a way to convert the filesystem to case-sensitivity? This would allow me to run the restore again; Netbackup would simply write the files that don't exist.

Thanks,
