There's a really easy to set up program that's been mentioned on this list several times to allow your users to change their password via a webpage. I don't remember it's original name as I just changed it to password.woa. A seach of the archives should reveal it.

Yeah, I remember that being mentioned on the list.... and actually, I wrote a WebObjects application myself which can talk to OD. That could likely be tweaked to do password changes. I guess I was hoping there was something within the traditional pantheon of SFTP/ SCP/etc. apps.

The WebObjects app that's been mentioned is mine -- you can download it from my website at the URL below. It's open source and free.

If everyone is using Apple's mail, and you setup mail certs, it's very

About half my remote clients are non-mac though.

The standard S/MIME certificates work with Outlook as well. Have your client go to https://www.thawte.com/cgi/personal/contents.exe and get a free personal e-mail certificate. Once they have gotten the certificate and installed it according to Thawte's instructions, they can then send you a signed e-mail from Apple Mail or Outlook. This signed e-mail gives you a copy of their certificate, which you can then use to send them an encrypted e-mail containing their new password -- and the message contents will be encrypted in transit so that the new password cannot be snooped.
