Hello all-

I am trying to install Mac OS 10.4.0 server on a brand new Power Mac Quad. I quickly discovered that both the DVD and CD (and another 10.4 DVD we had) causes the machine to crash shortly after the Apple logo appears on startup. I performed an extended hardware test where everything passed. An Apple engineer explained to me that I need 10.4.2 Server or later to install on this hardware. Go figure. I just purchased this OS X Server direct from Apple, you would think I would get a more recent build.

My question is: While I wait for Apple to get me a more recent build, would either remote install or target mode allow me to install 10.4.0 and then update to 10.4.7 ?
