Setting ACLs via Linux over NFS share

Setup:
NFS shares out from 10.4.8 Server which is bound to AD
Connected via RHEL kernel 2.4.21 (grabbing credentials from AD)

Share is mounted as root user on Linux box and items can be created and permissions set using chown/chmod for both local and domain users. What I am curious about is whether or not anyone has tried getting setfacl/getfacl to work in these situations. I am assuming the answer may end up being "no," but I can't seem to find any information that says one way or the other.

Thanks in advance,
Mike Wyant
